I almost laughed. Mexicans? Weren't those that type of human that could amazingly cram a large number of themselves into a car or house? Now I almost felt sympathy for her, but I didn't show it. Getting to my feet, I decided maybe it was about time I fess up and go outside. The food was better anyways when in the sun, and I'd been "hiding" in the boarding house for too long. So, I decided to follow her.
" Hey, wait up miss hotfoot."

She continued her slow jog towards the door her head turning towards him bright eyes showing her amusement returning decide to come along? she remarked with a grin stopping at the door and awaiting for him to catch up. She eyed the Rotties wailing to themselves in their corner and stood strait. Though she knew very well SHE wasnt the one that'd done that too them.....it still made her feel a sense of pride.
She headed out the door after he'd cought up, rats, mice, birds, sometimes and occasional cat or owl would come by and that was always good eating. Once they got outdoors though she stretched the bright sunlight that had cleared the clouds away was quite awakening. She sat a moment scratching at the furrowed collar around her neck, not much a small nylon thing, dark blue almost black with grime matted between her skin and hair. with Chica written in permanant marker on it...that was all.
so why stay hidden away? the masked avenger or something? she said a grin playing on her expression as she got up and began her trip again her eyes scanning for food now

I eyed her for a moment, and shook some dust off my pelt. The bright sunlight made me blink a few times, but it didn't take long for me to adjust.
" No...I just, don't prefer the outside world very much. Why're you so curious?"
I turned my head and looked back at the old boarding house...and was glad I was out of it. It looked terrible from the outside, much worse than the inside. If the dog catcher ever suspected that place they'd all be gonners, nowhere else to take refuge. Looking away, I focused on her. And a small bird perched precariously on the edge of a plank of wood.

grin covered her fascade as she let him amuse her with his odd questions which only made her more inquisitive....she saw the bird near not naring it yet but watching it closely well you know what they say....curiosity killed the cat....and im a dog so i think im safe she said nearing the bird she jumped but the bird won the battle and beat her flying up in the air....but at the same time.... when she jumped on the board a family of rats scadoodled out from under it from which chica barked and chased getting one, her growl...though she thought she sound vicious sounded more like a puppy playing than a mean growl. as she got it killed. im just inquisitive she said sounding a bit...wordy with her big word...quite proud of herself with it

I myself took off after one of the rats, and had one between my paws, battered to death now. I chewed it, not really keen on vermin, but it filled the stomach.
"Mmhmm, ok..."
I didn't really understand what she meant, so I dropped it right there, not wanting to sound stupid. I was an adult after all, well...almost. 4 Years was a long time for a dog. And adults were suppost to know a lot, right? Well, at least I knew enough to survive....I was even amazed at myself for being so interested in her.
" So....you move around a lot?"

the femme grinned, food was food to her, she'd learned that. She'd had to learn to appreciate that, all of it, she after all WAS a lucky dog. She made it across the border with her family, she made it through the towns and cities, to here, hopefull not to move again she worked on wolfing down her rat tearing it to shreads before eating them one by one.
She could tell that there was something that she said that he didnt totally get but she was ok with that he seemed apt to keep the conversation going or hide his own clumbisiness in dialoge so she didnt mind. Others would just be quiet or look at her crazy but she knew all the tricks in the book hopefully not much any more......theyve got a home now, though im not sure I do anymore she said with a crooked grin.
The family she'd stayed with was a large famly a VERY large family and when theyd somehow gotten a larger beautiful house chica' taken back to the alleys again she wasnt sure how theyd house her if they'd house her, she surely wouldnt become a house dog, she knew that...lying down in the dirt after finishing she let her focus run back towards him

I continued chewing the heck out of my little feast, aware of her eyes. Finishing the meager meal, I nudged it away and stood once more, feeling good in the sunlight. Better than I'd felt in a while. Looking over to her, I shook off the grime and dirt from the ground.
" Oh."
That was all I could really think of to say, as my gaze searched around the perimeter of the boarding house. There was a young pup laying on the outskirts, and she hadn't moved at all for a long while. I sighed, and looked away, crouching on my haunches and pretending to dig at a itchy spot, keeping an eye on Chica.

she grinned nearing and circling him but only curiously looking him over and what about you? housedog? stray? she asked inquisitively whats your big bad story she sat in front of him her head thingyed to the side bright eyes up watching him she could hear the feint wheels of cars down the street but other than that everything was silent, it was quite quiet back here and seemed a good place to "hideaway" but goodness gracious if the darned dog catcher ever found this place he'd have a field day and she surely knew that

A prick of annoyance entered my mind at her constant questions, but I had to admire her...well, stingyness in general. Turning my head away so she wasn't in my face, I rumbled.
"Housedog? No. Stray, yes. That's all you need to know for now."
I hopefully made it clear that my trust and good will was not earned easily, and I began walking towards the street. The sounds and smells attracted me, especially the ones coming from the drivethru resteraunt close to the home. I eyed it appeasingly from afar, watching as the food was passed from window to car very slowly. Hmmm.....

she watched him reply, and though his tone seemed....unwelcoming, Chica was not one to be deterred, not that she didnt have pride, but she was very curious, full of lie and energy and there was just about nothing anyone could do to break THAT from her. She got up watching as he blissfully just "pranced" off. Her quick steps following after to catch up, plume waering behind her though her attention was attracted to other than food......Unlike from other street dogs, chica was not a big eater, she had a large coat, underneath she was almost nothing. She had not much interest in food and at it only to please her stomach at times. Though there were a group of elder looking kids out in the street in another area down the street and chica ventured nearer audits perked not much getting to her focus

I took off without another thought, straight for the drivethru. There was a car there, and I knew that in just one moment a hot, fresh bag of human food would be offered out that window. And, it happened! I sprung up and snapped down on the bag, tearing it from the man's grip. There were a few angry yelps and barks from the humans, words I didn't care to understand, and finally them whimpering sympathies. I didn't care. I had food, and I galloped back over to where Chica was, a satisfied expression on my mug..
"Mmm. Want some?"
